I am an artist living/working in Brighton Beach
area of Brooklyn, New York. My specialty is traditional oil
portraits and nude paintings of women.
For portraits, I appreciate the works by French
painters from Rococo period, such as Elisabeth Louise Vigee-Le
Brun or Jean-Marc Nattier. They often painted beautiful aristocratic
women with soft edges in luxurious costumes/settings. My goal
is to create portraits that are more beautiful and youthful
than the actual sitters but still capture the individual characters.
For nude paintings, I admire the styles of Boucher
and Renoir, with soft, idealized beauty of youthful women in
peaceful and romatic ways.
As I got older, I started to appreciate more bright
paintings with less dramatic contrast. I think women in paintings
look more beautiful that way. It goes well with the inherent
nature of women which is very bright and soft. Finding female
models with blonde hair & blue eyes with light skin became
very important for me.
This does not mean I do not paint people other than
blonde women. I would be delighted to paint portraits for anybody
and any pets. My philosophy in life is to forgive anything and
give unconditional love to every human being and animal on earth.
Even the most egregious criminal is, at the end, a precious
spiritual being and need to be loved for who they are. I do
not believe hating and fighting will solve prolems. It took
me a long time to realize that unconditionally loving every
single person results in a more peaceful and fulfilling life
for me and for everybody else.
The real world is full of violence and economic
uncertainty. In my art, I am interested in creating the heavenly
paradise as I imagine. It's the world filled with love and beauty.
